Choose a length between 6 and 64 and get a random password made from mixed-case letters, digits and symbols. It is generated in your browser and shown only to you — nothing is sent over the network, logged or stored.
The character set deliberately leaves out look-alikes: no capital O or I, no lowercase l, no 0 or 1. Those are the characters that cause trouble when a password has to be read aloud, typed from a screenshot or copied off a printed page, and excluding them costs almost nothing in strength at a reasonable length.

How to Use the Password Generator
Enter the length you want, from 6 to 64 characters.
Select Generate to create a random password.
Copy it and save it in your password manager before you navigate away.
Tips
Length is what matters most. Sixteen characters is a reasonable floor for an ordinary account and longer is better for anything important.
Use a unique password everywhere and let a password manager remember them. Reuse is what turns one site's breach into several compromised accounts.
Copy it before leaving the page. Nothing is stored here, so once the page is gone the password is gone.
Generate a fresh one rather than editing an old password when you suspect an account may be exposed.
Some services cap password length or reject certain symbols. Generate a shorter one if a form refuses it.
Password Generator FAQ
Is the password sent or stored anywhere?
No. It is generated in your browser, displayed on your screen, and never transmitted or saved by this site.
Which characters can appear?
Upper and lowercase letters, digits and common symbols, excluding easily confused characters such as O, 0, I, l and 1.
Is a longer password always better?
Longer passwords are substantially harder to attack by guessing, up to whatever maximum the service accepts.
Why are some letters and numbers excluded?
To prevent transcription mistakes when a password is read, dictated or typed manually. At normal lengths the effect on strength is negligible.
Can I generate several at once?
Select Generate again for a new password each time. Copy each one before generating the next.
